Built and led a four-engineer team delivering a broker adapter platform for BitMEX's EU expansion under MiCA and MiFID II. Worked directly with the CTO and compliance leadership on technical strategy, delivery, hiring, and regulatory requirements.

Owned the end-to-end EU platform, including trading terminal and KYC front ends, a NestJS verification backend, local authentication, and a private cross-region gateway to the core exchange. Designed data minimization controls to retain customer PII on EU infrastructure, re-architected the solution for broker-hosted infrastructure requirements, and delivered a compliant sandbox with brokerage and identity-verification integrations.

Hired three engineers in under a month, rebuilt the CoderPad interview process and interviewer guides, mentored front-end engineers into full-stack roles, and introduced AI-assisted engineering workflows and PRD-driven planning.

Acted as engineering lead across two stints while the manager was on leave, leading planning, delivery, hiring, and stakeholder management as the mobile team grew from four to ten engineers. Was promoted to Technical Lead at the end of this period.

Led the React Native re-platforming from version 0.63 to 0.86 using the New Architecture, alongside a full app redesign and rebrand publicly launched in December 2025. Owned the migration strategy, feature-flag rollout, and release decisions; mobile trading-volume share doubled within 60 days.

Improved app startup times by 45%, CPU usage by 37%, and runtime error rates by 50%. Introduced Sentry monitoring, Flashlight and Reassure device-lab tooling, Expo/EAS releases, Maestro E2E testing, on-call runbooks, and a self-service onboarding process that reduced ramp time to under three days.

Established product engineering from scratch for an on-chain startup with teams distributed across Singapore and the United States.
