Staff Backend Engineer — Blockchain

I serve as technical lead for a five-person team building crypto payments and trading infrastructure. I lead the backend architecture for a collateral-backed crypto top-up card, enabling on-chain stablecoin collateral to fund Visa card spending through Rain and Rhinestone smart-account infrastructure.

I own transaction lifecycle management and on-chain/off-chain reconciliation across ledgers with different finality models. I also delivered an L1 perpetuals trading proof of concept, built a stablecoin earn vault with yield and boosted-token rewards, designed chain-abstraction infrastructure for automatic cross-chain movement, and developed smart-account APIs, indexers, workers, and event pipelines.

I rebuilt the account-abstraction indexer from scratch, expanding real-time ERC-4337 EntryPoint and Paymaster event coverage to more than 24 mainnet chains. The platform returned transaction confirmations to users and substantially expanded the capabilities of the preceding system.

I built a historical indexer to backfill blockchain events into the data warehouse using TypeScript, ClickHouse, Redis, and GCP Pub/Sub. I also improved p99 latency for the off-chain Paymaster service from approximately 800ms to 200ms and designed a cross-chain event notification system with email and Slack alerting.

I built a third-party KYC vendor integration workflow at exchange scale. The asynchronous verification pipeline routed submitted customer identity data to external providers across multiple jurisdictions and reconciled results received through webhook callbacks.

I strengthened due-diligence, data-storage, and caching layers across the identity platform to improve reliability. My work used Spring Boot, Java, MySQL, and Redis.

I led a team of eight to replace a legacy onboarding codebase with a unified platform. The initiative consolidated onboarding flows onto shared backend services and a common React component library, replacing Backbone and reducing duplicated work while delivering organization-level cost savings.

I was also a core contributor to cross-geography routing infrastructure for onboarding applications. The system served users through in-country domains and data stores to meet data-residency requirements, including China, and covered data replication and cross-region synchronization using Spring Boot, Java, Oracle, Cassandra, and React. I was promoted to Member of Technical Staff in February 2022 and received a PayPal Hero Award in 2020.

I developed backend services for the core marketplace of a high-volume self-drive rental platform. My work supported booking lifecycle workflows, vehicle availability, and trip management.

I contributed production backend functionality using Java and JavaScript for key rental marketplace services.

I built and operate an end-to-end alerting and execution system for Hyperliquid HIP-4 on-chain outcome markets. The monetized production platform handles real user funds and uses builder-code fees.

I implemented idempotent order execution, IOC orders with slippage protection, pre-trade risk validation, fill reconciliation, WebSocket gap healing, dual-provider failover, feed-lag alerts, a global freeze switch, and incident runbooks. The custody design uses agent wallets that cannot withdraw, with keys sealed at rest and decrypted only for signing.

I built a white-label B2B SaaS daily prediction competition platform for betting operators. The product operates under signed commercial contracts and is live in Tanzania, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Israel through a single iframe integration.

I implemented multi-tenant data isolation, JWT authentication for partner and super-admin portals, rate limiting, automated grading, and leaderboard computation using Next.js, Supabase, and Vercel.
