Senior Backend Software Engineer

Built Elixir and Phoenix backend services for document-oriented workflows processing 2.4 million operations daily. Designed distributed boundaries across 14 production components, maintained p95 API latency below 180 ms, and implemented Redis-backed coordination, bounded work queues, PostgreSQL data handling, and database index tuning.

Operated AWS and Kubernetes workloads, provisioning infrastructure with Terraform and Terramate. Introduced FluxCD GitOps workflows and Helm charts, strengthened observability with logs, metrics, and tracing, and supported CI/CD through GitHub Actions. Built Python and AI-agent-assisted automation utilities, implemented ExUnit and Postman testing, and collaborated with an eight-person remote engineering group on architecture and production delivery.

Delivered Elixir services for nine customer workflows using Phoenix REST endpoints and background processing. Containerized 22 application components with Docker, deployed to AWS, and managed configuration, health checks, and resource limits through Kubernetes manifests.

Built a TypeScript and React operations interface for queue state, failed requests, and deployment health. Maintained Node.js and Express integration services, improved CI/CD with GitHub Actions, tests, image scanning, and promotion gates, and worked with MySQL and MongoDB for transactional and event data.

Implemented Elixir backend components for seven internal workflows, covering request validation, persistence, and operational error reporting. Supported production systems serving approximately 38,000 monthly requests and used SQL query analysis to keep common operations below 250 ms.

Built Python automation for deployment and data-quality checks, maintained Django and Flask applications, and worked with PostgreSQL and SQLite. Created internal JavaScript and Next.js tools using Bootstrap and responsive design, while contributing unit tests, runbooks, debugging notes, API verification, and incident support.
