Investigator The State of NJ Office of the Public Defender
· Assisting Attorneys gather information regarding the clients/patient’s cases for court hearings via hospital documentation
· Traveling to Nine Psychiatric hospitals in the Northern Region of NJ to meet with clients/patients, interview them, discuss their treatment with hospital clinicians and review their medical charts
· Create and document reports of client/patient findings within discovery, progress, treatment, discharge and abuse or neglect on the unit if applicable. Provide completed reports to attorneys to utilize in court hearings
· Report abuse and neglect observed in the assigned psychiatric hospitals
· Contact client/patient caregivers or designated persons to obtain collateral information
· Conducting guardianship interviews with clients/patients who require appointed representation, creating reports and submitting to assigned attorneys
