Senior Frontend Engineer

I was the sole frontend engineer on a small product team, owning the entire web frontend in React, Next.js, and TypeScript from design handoff to production.

I worked closely with the product designer from wireframes and mockups onward, prototyped interactions, and iterated based on feedback before release. I also maintained shared components and visual guidelines to keep the product consistent as it grew.

I refactored legacy modules incrementally while shipping new features, improving readability, test coverage, and maintainability. I also built an SEO landing page with structured data and Core Web Vitals telemetry, and added integration and unit tests to previously untested modules.

I built reusable frontend solutions that improved performance and consistency across the product, including a React hook for caching CDN image URLs and a URL-based UI state hook rolled out across 12+ pages.

I also enabled gzip compression on backend API calls, roughly doubling throughput with a single configuration change. In addition, I shipped a new product from scratch for SmithRx, built a custom select component test-first, and stabilized flaky Cypress tests in CI/CD.

I owned a legacy refactor, led cross-functional execution, mentored peers through code review and pairing, and helped clean up Webpack, ESLint, and CI/CD configuration.

I architected and maintained a production merchant dashboard for a payments platform using React, GraphQL, and styled-components.

I also prototyped a JavaScript SDK bridging a native mobile wrapper to JS mini-apps and built an internal analytics dashboard with D3.js for telemetry visualization.

I partnered with backend engineers to define API contracts upfront, reduced rework, drove a major UI architecture refactor, and reviewed code across the team.

I maintained two React, Redux, and SSR sites, shipped new features, and fixed responsive markup across screen sizes.

I built features in Vue.js and created data visualizations with D3.js and Highcharts. I also fixed bugs and performance issues in existing products.

I handled Cisco/VLAN networking, backups, scripting, and IT operations in earlier infrastructure and support roles.

I completed a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Software.
