At PVT Origination, I led the design and deployment of Private Cloud infrastructure for
multiple clients. My work enabled operational efficiency and scalability through
technologies such as Dell VxRail, VMware vSphere & vSAN, Veeam Backup, Palo Alto
Networks NGFW, and Extreme Networks ExtremeOS.
• Delivered infrastructure consulting for eMAG’s Black Friday operations, including
hardware planning, storage migration, and virtualisation strategy.
• Participated in a tiger team intervention following a critical failure in an EV charging
network—conducted post-mortem analysis and audited development infrastructure to
align with business objectives.
• Supported clients in optimising their infrastructure and operations through tailored,
vendor-agnostic cloud solutions.

Led the growth of the Automation & Data (A&D) department within IT Infrastructure
and spearheaded the planning and deployment of the virtualisation infrastructure. Took
charge during a major departmental restructuring, leading a team of 7 through hands-on,
example-based leadership. Key achievements include:
• Reduced storage I/O by 30% via noSQL optimisation, saving approximately €1M
annually.
• Cut datacenter power usage and costs by 30% through infrastructure virtualisation—
representing nearly 10% of the total IT budget.
• Decreased NAS I/O by 95% by redesigning data lake storage in collaboration with end
users.

Optimised storage performance for virtualisation infrastructure through advanced tuning of
I/O schedulers, filesystems, databases, and migration to RDMA over Converged Ethernet,
achieving a 30% reduction in I/O load.
• Managed a SAN environment with over 2,000 Fibre Channel ports and 20 mid-range
and high-end all-flash arrays from multiple vendors (DellEMC, IBM, HPe, PureStorage,
NetApp)
• Evaluated and led planning for ROCEv2 adoption.
• Participated in strategic architecture decisions, red-teaming Vanilla Kubernetes vs
OpenShift to guide containerisation roadmap.

Delivered implementation and support for Solaris/Linux and Engineered Systems
infrastructure across telecom, energy, defense, and financial sectors.
• Extended FreeIPA (OSS) support for macOS for a transportation client and migrated
legacy systems to HP+3Par+ESXi+RHEL.
• Deployed VMware Orchestrator for a leading telecom operator in Romania.
• Developed a custom HTML5 UI for Smart Metering solutions (NES/Eschelon),
including PKI design and SPOC-PKI integration for government clients.
• Built PKI infrastructure for SCADA systems at a Romanian energy DSO.
• Performed post-deployment performance tuning of SAP infrastructure for a steel
corporation and contributed to SOX compliance policy design.
• Led outsourced Unix support teams for telecom and steel sectors
• Directed teams in two national smart-metering pilot projects covering over 15,000
meters.
