About Me
I am a DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in cloud infrastructure and virtualization technologies. My journey in the tech industry has equipped me with a robust skill set that includes AWS services, Linux servers, VMware technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform. I have validated my knowledge by acquiring the VMware Certified Professional certification, and the AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification. I am currently preparing for the Solutions Architect Professional exam to further enhance my expertise. My passion for technology drives me to continuously learn and adapt to new challenges in both the cloud and onpremises domains.
In my current role, I have successfully reduced client cloud spending significantly by optimizing AWS resources. Implemented IaC to reduce operational overhead. I take pride in my ability to analyze complex systems and implement effective solutions that enhance operational efficiency. My experience includes automating processes to minimize downtime and improve service delivery times.
Previously, I worked as a Private Cloud Engineer, where I designed and deployed various cloud infrastructures, including VMware and Citrix DaaS solutions. My contributions led to successful migrations to AWS, which not only reduced hardware costs but also improved the overall performance of the company's systems. I have a strong background in managing virtualization environments and ensuring that clients requirements are met.
Throughout my career, I have developed a keen understanding of networking technologies, including Cisco and Nokia MPLS networks. My role as a SysAdmin allowed me to refine my skills in troubleshooting and resolving critical issues across diverse technologies. I am adept at executing migrations and upgrades, ensuring seamless transitions for clients.
I am also experienced in providing IT user support, having worked with executives at CAF Development Bank to streamline their IT operations. My ability to communicate effectively and provide solutions has been instrumental in my success in the tech industry. Experience
Performed a thorough analysis of a clients cloud spending in AWS reducing their monthly charges from $3000 to $1200, by right-sizing and identifying unused resources, monitoring anomalies and limiting data transfer fees. Implemented custom monitoring metrics to a clients cloud infrastructure, which, through a Zabbix API automation, detected and acted on their systems errors, greatly reducing their operational downtime. Created an automation that detects and diagnoses IPsec VPN errors in a critical Linux system of one of our clients, and applied a fix to it, drastically reducing downtime. Created and deployed standardized Terraform templates for AWS configurations, automating many infrastructure setup steps for new clients, enhancing consistency, and reducing operational overhead. Migrated a client’s outsourced website to AWS in record time, adding to it an automation that sends email notifications every time a form is filled in the website, and migrating their DNS zones to the cloud.
Designed and deployed Citrix On-Premises, Cloud, and Hybrid DaaS Infrastructures. Migrated part of the companies on-premises infrastructure to AWS using services like S3, EC2, NLB, VPC, and Route 53, considerably reducing spending in new hardware. Successfully deployed Proof-of-Concept infrastructures within the companies private cloud that brought new clients to the company. Deployed and upgraded vSphere solutions. Including ESXI Hosts, vCenter Servers, DRS / HA enabled Clusters, VSAN / iSCSi shared Storages and Distributed Switches, improving the performance and security of the companies systems.
