Geospatial Analyst UN FAO
Alignment of existing administrative boundary datasets, topology and geometry validation, preparation of metadata for GIS projects.
I am a Geospatial Analyst at the UN FAO with 3 years of professional experience in different fields and applications of geographic information systems (GIS) such as land planning, cadastre, mining and agriculture. I hold a Master's degree in Cartography and Geoinformatics with honors. My current role at UN FAO as Consultant involves working on the hand-in-hand initiative, where I align existing administrative boundary datasets to reflect updated UN maps and assist in preparing metadata for various GIS projects. I collaborate with the GIS development team to maintain the geospatial platform and analyze GIS data for upcoming forums.
Previously, I interned at Energy Craft LLC, where I was responsible for the search and verification of mining positions using spatial images and archived spectral data. I conducted field analyses related to wetlands, soils, and rivers, utilizing ArcGIS for spatial analysis and classification of infrastructure and pipelines. My work included visualizing projects on ArcGIS and Google Earth databases.
I also gained experience as a GIS Analyst Intern at the Master's Plan Architecture and Urban Planning Office, where I analyzed territorial data with QGIS and MapInfo Pro, visualizing it with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. My responsibilities included researching points of interest around studied territories using online cartographic services.
In addition, I worked as a Cadastral Engineer at the Moscow City State Institute of Geological, Geodetic and Cartographic Works, where I updated cadastral plans and digitized various elements of territories. My early career included a Civil Engineering Internship in Cameroon, where I drew building construction plans and created 3D models.
Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Geoinformatics and Cartography at Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography, further enhancing my expertise in the field.
