I have over four years of experience as a Library Circulation Associate where I provided exceptional customer service and served as the first point of contact between the public and the library. My responsibilities included reader’s advisory, reference services, circulation duties such as checking in and out materials, registering patrons, managing accounts, and maintaining collections. I also handled interlibrary loan requests through the Cardinal ILL system and provided coverage at branch libraries.
In addition to circulation services, I have over seven years of experience in administrative roles. I have overseen the scheduling and operation of public meeting rooms, revised policies and procedures, and coordinated meetings with approval from the Board of Trustees.
As an Adult & Teen Programmer in the Information Service Department, I created and facilitated community-tailored programs including crafting workshops, local history and genealogy seminars, and wellness series. I managed an annual programming budget, built relationships with community resources, and represented the library at local events such as Farmer’s Markets and city-run programs to promote library services.
I have also served as Manager on Duty, responsible for opening and closing duties, petty cash handling, security, and responding to emergencies, disputes, and grievances during library hours. My role as Information Services Associate involved providing reference services, assisting with printing, faxing, digitization, and managing collections in Non-fiction, Local History, Reference, and Young Adult sections.
My education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC. I am passionate about community engagement, library services, and fostering lifelong learning through innovative programming and excellent patron support.
