CPA | Assurance, Risk Advisory & Accounting Leader
About Me
I am a purpose-driven CPA and manager with experience leading assurance, risk advisory, and accounting work across top Canadian and global accounting firms as well as an international retailer. My background has given me a multi-lens perspective on audit, risk, advisory, and accounting, and I bring a balanced approach that combines technical expertise with empathy.
I have led complex assurance, advisory, and SOC 2 engagements, translating risk and controls into measurable trust, transparency, and long-term value. I am comfortable working across planning, execution, reporting, and quality management, and I focus on delivering outcomes that are both technically sound and practical for stakeholders.
In my recent roles, I have managed payroll and benefit accounting, supported period-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals, and worked cross-functionally with Payroll, Benefits, Human Resources, and Treasury. I have also contributed to process improvement and automation opportunities in SAP and OneStream environments.
My advisory and audit experience includes internal audits, transformation assurance, control assessments, and reporting for government, municipal, not-for-profit, and private-sector clients. I have applied frameworks such as COSO, COBIT, CAS, and the AICPA SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria to strengthen governance, risk management, and control environments.
I have also taken on leadership responsibilities by mentoring teams, reviewing workpapers, coaching documentation quality, and helping teams meet deadlines while maintaining high standards. I value collaboration, accountability, and a team-first approach that supports both people and performance.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Ottawa and am a Chartered Professional Accountant. I am based in Ottawa, Canada, and I am committed to advancing organizational goals through integrity, quality, and effective leadership.
