Industrial Attachment

Currently undertaking an industrial attachment to gain practical experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The attachment involves applying skills in web design, graphic design, programming, software installation, database management, mobile application development, networking, and IT support while working in a professional environment(Panari Resort-Nyahururu). This experience is strengthening my technical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills through real-world projects and daily workplace responsibilities.

A Diploma in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equips graduates with technical skills in software development, web design, networking, database management, system administration, and IT support to solve business and technological challenges.

Introduction to Cybersecurity – Cisco Networking Academy

This course provides a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles and the importance of protecting digital information, systems, and networks. It covers cyber threats and attacks, malware, phishing, data privacy, confidentiality, integrity, availability (CIA Triad), network security basics, risk management, and best practices for securing personal and organizational information. The course also introduces career pathways in cybersecurity and emphasizes the role of cybersecurity in today's digital world.

Networking Basics – Cisco Networking Academy

This course provides a solid foundation in computer networking concepts and technologies. It covers network types and topologies, IP addressing, network devices such as routers and switches, Ethernet and wireless networking, network protocols, the OSI and TCP/IP models, basic network configuration, troubleshooting techniques, and network security fundamentals. The course develops practical skills for building, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting small networks while preparing learners for more advanced networking studies.
