Senior Backend Engineer

Architected and shipped a multi-site Laravel 12 and Livewire 3 platform for a paying client. The platform runs two live client sites through shared application logic and site-specific configuration.

Built internal Artisan tooling for diagnostics, performance checks, image optimization, and recurring maintenance. Designed resilient service orchestration across Laravel, Python/FastAPI services, AI providers, and third-party APIs, and delivered a secure embeddable chatbot, administrative tools, lead-generation workflows, and production reporting dashboards.

Took broad responsibility for ToucanTech's custom ERP and multi-tenant PHP SaaS platform after promotion to Senior Web Developer. Evolved complex business rules, relational data models, reporting capabilities, third-party integrations, deployment safety, and production monitoring.

Used Elasticsearch for search and data indexing across Users, Events, and Fundraising modules. Implemented a reverse GoCardless API importer for historical CSV payment migrations and contributed to complex fundraising reporting and architecture reliability decisions.

Built the Fundraising module independently from initial concept through production delivery. It became the platform's largest revenue driver for private schools, colleges, and universities dependent on fundraising income.

Developed custom client solutions and third-party API integrations across the platform. Managed live deployments, final code-quality checks, server monitoring, and maintenance using AWS and SSH.

Working directly with the client on a PrestaShop upgrade from version 1.7 to 9.1. The engagement includes upgrading the PHP environment from PHP 7.2 to PHP 8.5.
