I am an AI and Machine Learning Engineer focused on natural language processing, Python, and model deployment. I build practical machine learning systems from data preparation through live inference.
I developed the Hausa Crisis Signal Detector, a production-grade text classification system fine-tuned on AfriBERTa for humanitarian crisis detection in Hausa-language text. I managed the workflow from dataset labelling and training to evaluation, interface development, and deployment on Hugging Face Spaces.
I work with Python, transformers, scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, and Gradio. My experience includes NLP classification, model fine-tuning, data cleaning, automated pipelines, RSS scraping, and structured data workflows.
I also have software development experience in agile environments, including requirements gathering, testing, release support, technical documentation, and collaboration with engineering and product teams. My training covers algorithms, data structures, system design, and collaborative development practices.
I am passionate about building accessible AI systems for underserved communities and markets. I am particularly interested in low-resource language machine learning, conversational AI, automation, and data-driven products.
