Junior SOC Analyst and Penetration Tester

I am a junior SOC Analyst and penetration testing candidate based in Brikama, Gambia. I hold an Advanced Diploma in IT and a Diploma in Cybersecurity, with practical training in security operations, threat detection, log analysis, Wireshark, Linux, and ethical hacking.

I am focused on security monitoring, accurate alert triage, incident response, and fast containment. I have foundational SIEM-related experience through analyzing Linux authentication logs and syslog files using command-line tools such as grep and tail.

I have hands-on penetration testing knowledge across reconnaissance, enumeration, vulnerability analysis, exploitation, post-exploitation, and reporting. My technical practice includes Nmap port scanning, service enumeration, Hydra brute-force testing, and vulnerability assessment.

I have defensive security experience with firewall configuration, Fail2ban mitigation, Windows Defender, least-privilege access controls, Linux permissions, and Windows user-group management. I also understand TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, wireless security, and Cisco CLI fundamentals.

I am interested in remote SOC and cybersecurity opportunities, including US overnight shifts. I am committed to developing my technical security capabilities while contributing reliable monitoring, investigation, and network defense support.
