Environmental Engineer and Climate Data Specialist

Co-led climate adaptation planning for 11 municipalities in the Aveiro Region through CLIMAAX, assessing extreme precipitation, coastal flooding, river flooding, flood-related damages and population impacts, and wildfires.

Developed Python and GIS workflows for multi-hazard risk assessments across indicators, datasets, scenarios, sectors, and municipalities. Led the regional climate adaptation plan and European deliverable M6, conducted vulnerability, industrial emissions, and regional economic analyses, and developed and delivered training for the REMET-UA regional urban metabolism model.

Delivered technical environmental modelling, data analysis, and reporting for the FONDA Horizon Europe Twinning project.

Developed satellite-data workflows in collaboration with international experts in Utrecht and contributed to project technical deliverables.

Led environmental modelling, emissions-scenario development, data analysis, and technical reporting across FCT projects including SAGE, FireSmoke, GENESIS, and FUTURAR.

Contributed to Horizon Europe, H2020, and national projects including UNaLab, DISTENDER, FONDA, AIRTIP, SAGE, and GENESIS. Developed automated pre-processing, post-processing, visualisation, and large-scale environmental data workflows, and implemented a CMIP6-to-WRF workflow and tutorial framework for researchers.

Developed an eco-indicator for assessing compact and sprawled urban-planning strategies under future climate and air-quality scenarios.

Integrated environmental modelling, emissions analysis, spatial analysis, and urban planning assessment as part of doctoral research in environmental sciences and engineering.
