Product Engineer

I worked as the only engineer on a founding team building a community loyalty platform for brands from initial concept through launch. I collaborated with non-technical founders and brand operators to shape challenges, reviews, referrals, points, messaging, and operational workflows.

I delivered iOS, Android, and web experiences, including a Next.js 15 administrative portal with live KPI dashboards, financials, challenge workflows, and messaging. I implemented Shopify and PayPal integrations, Shopify order webhooks with HMAC validation, API Gateway, SQS and DLQ processing, and transactional email via ZeptoMail.

I built the platform in TypeScript using NestJS and a Fastify BFF on AWS Lambda, with SST-managed infrastructure across Lambda, ECS, CloudFront, S3, and SQS. I also established observability with Grafana, Prometheus, and Sentry, and designed a points engine supporting FIFO batches, expiry, approvals, discounts, gift cards, and cashback.

I served as frontend technical lead for a two-engineer team building Vite and Next.js portals for a solar-energy client. I adapted technical delivery to client constraints around security, performance, and sustainable team velocity.

I was promoted to project manager for six insurance teams totaling 28 people. I managed priorities, risks, timelines, and stakeholders across greenfield portal development and maintenance while staying closely involved with architecture.

I later transitioned away from project management to return to hands-on product engineering work.

I rewrote a production healthcare CMS for a confidential international client using React, Next.js, Node.js, and Python. Beyond the technical rewrite, I partnered on information architecture and editorial workflows.

I also built a production RAG product for a US law practice. I designed file ingestion and retrieval workflows that enabled lawyers to receive curated, usable analyses rather than a generic chatbot demonstration.

I led development of patient-facing laboratory websites for Latin America's largest diagnostics company, using React, Next.js, and serverless NestJS services. I owned production properties used directly by patients and laboratory brands.

I contributed to Histórico da Saúde, a unified patient-profile initiative that connected laboratory and hospital data sources. I collaborated across internal groups to transform disconnected records into a single, trustworthy patient view.

I worked on the institutional website for Latin America's largest travel group. I maintained an Ember.js production application and led its migration to React while keeping the existing site operational.

I collaborated with the business owners throughout the cutover process to reduce disruption and ensure the migration met operational needs. I progressed from Senior Software Engineer to Tech Lead during this period.
