I support new clients applying for in-home services through the Colorado Department of Authorized Supportive Services. My responsibilities include obtaining authorization for in-home care and preparing documentation so caregivers can receive compensation.

I enter caregiver work hours, monitor submitted data, and identify and correct data issues. I provide organized administrative support to help clients and caregivers navigate program processes.

Provided nursing administrative services for the nursing department, including approval of nursing hours, purchase orders, staff schedules, and nursing work duties.

Wrote state and federal grant applications that funded initiatives including a child car-seat program and a diabetes education program. Delivered motivation and education to help participants understand diabetes management, medication, nutrition, exercise, and sustainable lifestyle changes.

Provided total patient care for surgical, medical, pre-operative, and post-operative patients. Delivered IV therapy, administered medications and blood products, and followed and documented physician orders.

Supervised nursing staff and maintained current knowledge of medications and side effects. Educated patients about metabolic diseases, medications, and medical concerns.

Provided clinical nursing care in a fast-paced rural outreach clinic serving veterans in Colorado and New Mexico. Performed vital signs, EKGs, blood draws, and patient education related to diabetes, liver failure, heart conditions, and lung disease.

Documented nursing care and forwarded records to the Albuquerque VA system at each shift. Delivered care according to physician orders, including education on insulin injections, foot care, and blood glucose monitoring.
