Backend Software Engineer

I develop and maintain backend services across Order, Checkout, Prebook, and Pricing domains using Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, and MongoDB. I collaborate with engineering teams across the order lifecycle to deliver resilient, customer-facing workflows.

I improved API resiliency by strengthening failure handling and service-to-service communication. I also delivered Smart Capacity, In-Store Digitization, and Future Order capabilities, including REST APIs with validation, exception handling, integrations, and backward-compatible changes.

In the Digital Trust & Safety domain, I develop fraud and abuse prevention services for checkout workflows. I contributed to an in-house risk evaluation platform that reduced dependency on Signifyd and bypassed 10% of traffic from the external validation service.

I implemented promotional abuse validation and data-processing workflows using Python, Kafka, Databricks, and Google BigQuery to support data-driven order risk evaluation.

I designed and developed scalable microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, Python FastAPI, and Node.js for Jio Talkie. The services supported more than 10,000 users across five or more distributed services.

I engineered Kafka-based event-driven architecture for asynchronous service communication, processing over 1,000 events per second. I also implemented high-availability patterns with Netflix Eureka, Spring Cloud Gateway, service discovery, and load balancing, contributing to 99.9% service uptime.

I optimized PostgreSQL through indexing, schema design, query tuning, and partitioning, reducing average query execution time by approximately 40%. I also built WebSocket and Redis-based real-time communication supporting over 5,000 concurrent connections.

I implemented secure authentication and authorization with OAuth 2.0, JWT, RBAC, and HashiCorp Vault. I supported system observability using Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Micrometer.
