Cloud Operations Engineer

I am a Cloud Operations Engineer with over four years of experience supporting enterprise Azure environments across nine production subscriptions. My work focuses on infrastructure administration, operational reliability, access governance, monitoring, cost optimization, and automation.

I administer Azure Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Container Apps, and Microsoft 365 services. I design and maintain RBAC models based on least-privilege principles and work with Entra ID, Privileged Identity Management, and Conditional Access.

I build operational automation using Python, Bash, REST APIs, SDKs, and openpyxl. I created a cross-subscription reporting workflow that reduced a recurring reporting process from approximately 15 hours to less than one hour while maintaining consistent executive-ready outputs.

I use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, KQL, budgets, and alerting to improve cloud visibility and identify consumption anomalies. I have also reduced Azure spending through rightsizing, reservation analysis, and removal of idle resources.

I collaborate with technical teams, engineering leadership, and non-technical stakeholders by preparing monthly operational reports, executive presentations, incident documentation, and QA handovers. I have experience validating CI/CD pipelines, reproducing defects, and improving release traceability.

I am based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and am available for fully remote roles. I am seeking hands-on production experience across AWS and GCP alongside my primary Azure expertise, particularly in infrastructure automation and configuration management.
