Worked as a Senior Software Engineer delivering backend-heavy full-stack solutions for travel, education, and enterprise clients. Built and owned Travly's subscription billing and hotel-booking backend using NestJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Stripe, and RevenueCat. Delivered payment lifecycle functionality for web and mobile, including upgrades, cancellations, renewals, Apple Pay, Google Pay, trial-abuse prevention, and authorization-and-hold payment flows.
Improved Travly platform reliability and operational efficiency by identifying database performance issues through Locust load testing, optimizing costly endpoints and queries, and driving infrastructure changes that removed recurring manual database restarts. Built multi-provider hotel booking integrations with Ratehawk and Priceline/Agoda, scheduled inventory synchronization, cancellation handling, wallet and insurance payments, and Slack alerts.
Led technical delivery for Open edX projects including CLEAResult, USAHello, and Q-verse. Led teams of two to four engineers, created work-breakdown plans, implemented SSO and centralized sign-out using Azure AD B2C and OAuth2, developed user migration pipelines, custom course catalogs, enrollment workflows, reporting features, React administration pages, and bilingual platform support.
Delivered additional Open edX work for UC San Diego, Colaraz, 2U, and Edly, including Kafka log streaming, LTI integration with Perusal, role-based authorization, Docker migrations, CI maintenance, billing plugins, and open-source NodeBB integration. Developed Claude Code skills, agents, MCP integrations, and automated PR-review workflows to improve engineering throughput.
