About

Professional summary

I am a highly motivated and detail-oriented Urban Planning Graduate with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Town and Country Planning from the University of Moratuwa. My academic background covers urban development, spatial planning, regional and local planning, and sustainable community development.

I gained practical planning experience as a Planning Intern at the Urban Settlement Development Authority, where I supported rental housing development projects and the National Housing Improvement Loan Programme. I contributed to data collection, beneficiary assessments, project monitoring, proposal preparation, technical reporting, and stakeholder coordination.

I am skilled in GIS-based spatial analysis, land-use planning, mapping, project documentation, and evidence-based planning. I use QGIS, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Canva to support planning, design, reporting, and presentation tasks.

My undergraduate research focused on women's participation in rural tourism in Ella, Sri Lanka, examining how tourism can create sustainable livelihoods and improve socioeconomic conditions in rural settlements. I am interested in inclusive development, community participation, and sustainable tourism-led planning.

I have also completed academic planning projects involving local development plans, walkability, green infrastructure, public open spaces, commercial development, and recreational planning. I am eager to contribute my analytical, communication, teamwork, and project coordination skills to sustainable urban development initiatives.
