About

Professional summary

I am a software engineer with experience building secure, scalable backend and distributed systems for global payment platforms. I specialize in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, gRPC, PostgreSQL, and microservice architecture.

At Visa, I have led end-to-end service architecture for fraud, authentication, payment controls, and commercial payment workflows. My work has focused on improving reliability, security, observability, and scalability in high-volume transaction systems.

I have designed APIs and event-driven services, built automated regression coverage for asynchronous workflows, and modernized distributed processing through Temporal-based orchestration. I am comfortable owning services from architecture and implementation through deployment and operational support.

I have also delivered CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions and Docker, reducing release cycles substantially. Security is a core part of my engineering approach, including PCI DSS remediation, credential vaulting, encryption, and vulnerability management.

My background includes full-stack and analytics engineering work with Angular, React, Flask, R, Tableau, and MySQL. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Duke University, with a minor in Neuroscience.

Career history

Software Engineer VISA

I lead architecture and development for fraud, authentication, payment-control, and commercial payment services. I designed the Trusted Supplier Validation service for the B2B Fraud Solutions team, using Global Merchant Registry data and composite matching across Acquiring BIN, Card Acceptor ID, and Country Code to achieve a 91% merchant match rate for a pilot client.

I build and harden services within Visa's 3DS authentication platform, including outbound VCAS dispatch flows for real-time issuer risk decisioning. I own automated regression testing across the 3DS lifecycle, covering asynchronous Kafka user mapping, OTP and biometric routing, challenge execution, result validation, and downstream fintech responses.

I architected B2B Authorization Consumer and Producer microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, gRPC, and PostgreSQL. I improved VPC batch scalability through an active-active database architecture, modernized POP workflows with mTLS-connected Temporal workers, strengthened error handling, and implemented real-time validation for Card Eligibility APIs.

I delivered an automated billing reporting service and one-click CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Docker, and regression automation, reducing release cycles from more than five hours to approximately ten minutes. I also remediated more than 3,000 Checkmarx and Sonatype vulnerabilities and improved PCI DSS compliance through credential vaulting, hardened code, and AES encryption.

Software Engineer Intern VISA

I led a complete rewrite of the VPC Admin web application used by internal administrators and issuing banks for onboarding, card-control management, and notification settings.

I developed the application using Angular, Spring Boot, and MySQL, contributing to a more modern and maintainable platform for key payment-control stakeholders.

Media Analytics & Software Engineer Intern McKinney

I built a Flask and R analytics web application that applied Bayesian inference to advertising-performance data for cookie-less attribution insights. The solution reduced manual media analysis by approximately 15 hours per week.

I developed a Flask reporting platform to identify high-loss advertising placements caused by blocked ads, reducing campaign waste by approximately 10% for Samsung, Crocs, and Sherwin-Williams. I also conducted Gen Z advertising engagement research and created interactive R and Tableau dashboards to inform Little Caesars' 2020 marketing campaign strategy.
