Backend Engineer

I am a backend engineer specialising in Python, FastAPI, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD. I design secure, scalable REST APIs and take ownership of services from API design through deployment.

I have experience building automated test suites with pytest, creating GitHub Actions pipelines, and deploying containerised applications on AWS using Docker and Terraform. I focus on reliability, security, and efficient delivery workflows.

In my recent backend engineering role, I secured student and institutional data using HTTP-only cookie authentication, improved deployment speed through CI/CD automation, and reduced production bugs with automated testing. I also optimised database queries to support a platform scaling to more than 200,000 students.

I build AI-enabled and data-driven applications, including RAG-based code documentation systems, asynchronous processing pipelines, web scrapers, and cloud storage products. My work includes LangChain, LangGraph, Pinecone, PostgreSQL, and modern JavaScript frameworks.

I am based in Ilorin, Nigeria, and work remotely with overlap for US Eastern time. I am looking for a full-time backend engineering role where I can contribute to production systems at scale, while remaining available for contract engagements.
