I am a KMLTTB-certified Medical Laboratory Scientist with more than 11 years of progressive experience in clinical diagnostics, laboratory quality assurance, and medical screening in Kenya.
I specialize in clinical microbiology, including pathogen isolation, culture, identification, Gram staining, biochemical profiling, anaerobic and microaerophilic incubation, and antibiotic susceptibility testing. I have practical experience investigating gastrointestinal pathogens and monitoring antimicrobial susceptibility patterns.
I am proficient in immunology, serology, hematology, blood transfusion, clinical chemistry, parasitology, phlebotomy, and molecular diagnostic workflows. I also perform ELISA, rapid antigen and antibody screening, agglutination assays, blood-bank cross-matching, and high-volume specimen processing.
I maintain high diagnostic standards through internal quality control, equipment calibration, analyzer maintenance, biosafety implementation, laboratory information management systems, and external quality assurance practices. I have also collaborated with clinicians on critical values and secondary validation testing.
I have experience supporting GAMCA-compliant medical screening, laboratory operations, inventory management, community diagnostic camps, and staff development through continuing medical education. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences and am interested in further academic research in microbiology or biomedical sciences, particularly gastrointestinal pathogens, antimicrobial resistance, and host-microbe interactions.
