I planned a career break after nearly 20 years of continuous professional work. During this period, I have remained technically current through independent Python and AI application projects.

I led two distributed teams through two technical leads, managing nine engineers across a property-data platform and an acquired product team operating across several European locations. I partnered with the CDO and product and data leaders to define a six-month strategy and roadmap for the scraping domain.

I integrated an acquired senior engineering team by aligning ownership, roadmaps, and delivery practices. I reduced GCP costs by about 60% through a cloud-usage audit, improved observability and incident response for pipelines ingesting data from more than 30 advertising sites, and delivered an LLM-based sales-contract extraction pipeline.

I led up to 15 engineers across backend, data, and identity teams through two technical leads. I scaled the distributed analytics organisation, expanded its scope into authentication, and drove hiring across backend, frontend, and data roles.

I led migration of critical telephony services from a legacy monolith to AWS serverless architecture, reducing incoming-call setup latency from approximately two seconds to 0.2 seconds. I also set direction for a next-generation event-driven data platform, coordinated migration across more than 10 engineering teams, and led organisation-wide reliability initiatives.

I built a REST API gateway for asynchronous backend services. I also created an OpenShift template generator to standardise service creation and deployment practices.

I delivered and refactored distributed backend services for enterprise blockchain applications. My work used Go, Lisp, gRPC, Docker, AWS, and Hyperledger Fabric.

I led a seven-person backend team building a cloud-native market-data analytics platform across AWS and GCP. I consolidated proofs of concept into a production platform and migrated workloads to Kotlin and Python services.

I introduced automated performance testing and conducted more than 100 technical screening and coding interviews. This supported the creation of three backend engineering teams.

I built Groovy and Spring Boot microservices for a sports-betting platform. The work focused on backend service development in a microservices environment.

I delivered backend services and data-warehouse integrations. I also created reusable ETL templates to support data engineering delivery.

I developed shared microservice libraries used across more than 30 services. I also reviewed active-active data-centre architecture.

I led a six-person delivery-recovery team. I assessed architecture and agile delivery practices to help improve programme execution.

I architected Kafka-based event-driven microservices for a greenfield digital identity platform. My work focused on scalable distributed backend architecture.

I defined a roadmap for migrating from a monolith to microservices. I improved CI/CD practices across 18 websites and served as a hiring manager.

I optimised an asynchronous HTTP proxy. I also designed a highly available log-shipping architecture.

I led teams of up to nine engineers across client engagements. I reduced hotel-search latency from approximately 10 seconds to under two seconds and built sub-two-millisecond FX components.

I also conducted more than 200 interviews and supported engineering delivery through technical leadership and Scrum practices.

I implemented Java and Spring persistence components and core betting business rules. My work supported backend development for a betting platform.

I developed Java and C++ telecommunications software. I also created an internal client-server application.
