Senior Safety Manager and Functional Safety Expert

I lead functional safety activities for the braking portfolio, including EPB, ESC, IBC, EMB, and software-defined vehicle programs. I provide global functional leadership to Functional Safety Managers and coordinate cross-functional teams.

My responsibilities include ISO 26262 functional safety management, RFI/RFQ support, project planning and budgeting with OnePlan, HARA and DIA execution, safety goal allocation, and item definition and impact analysis reviews.

I develop functional and technical safety concepts, maintain safety cases, conduct FMEA, FTA, and DFA analyses, and plan safety audits and assessments. I also support customers on safety-related topics, deliver technical training, and conduct cybersecurity PSPM and review activities.

I managed functional safety activities for automotive braking products while based in Hyderabad, India. I supported the application of ISO 26262 across safety-relevant development activities.

I contributed to safety planning, risk analyses, safety concept reviews, safety case development, customer communication, and coordination of global engineering stakeholders.

I also supported RFI and RFQ activities, project planning, technical reviews, safety assessments, and capability development for functional safety teams.

I led the development of instrument-cluster platforms for German and Chinese OEMs using ARM Cortex-R4 and ARM Cortex-R5 architectures. I managed and technically guided software development teams of up to seven engineers.

My work included ISO 26262-compliant safety-related software development, AUTOSAR development, software component design, high-level and low-level design, requirements analysis, and FMEA activities. I used Enterprise Architect for system and software design and IBM DOORS for requirement management and traceability.

I conducted technical reviews throughout the V-model lifecycle, performed static analysis and CPP unit testing, ensured ASPICE and MISRA-C compliance, and resolved critical board bring-up and bootloader issues. Key contributions included a reusable telltale framework and a redesigned tank function that reduced software complexity.

I worked in Stuttgart as a Senior Software Engineer on instrument-cluster platform development for automotive OEMs. I developed safety-related embedded software components on ARM Cortex-R4 and ARM Cortex-R5 platforms.

My responsibilities included component design, AUTOSAR-based development, requirements analysis, software design, static code analysis, unit testing, and technical reviews. I worked within ISO 26262, ASPICE, MISRA-C, and V-model development processes.

I also supported port configuration, board bring-up, defect resolution, and development of components including telltales, tank management, clock, ODT, power management, and odometer security.

I developed communication products, modems, and routers primarily for Indian Railways. I was responsible for embedded software development for Cygnus modem families, including the Cyg-890 modem.

My work included device driver development, SPI, I2C, UART, and EEPROM interfaces, board bring-up, debugging, application software, and supervisory software development. I developed on Freescale Kinetis processor platforms.

I reduced RAM utilization from 223 KB to 102 KB and introduced a Modbus-based ring communication architecture. I also supported South Central Railways during modem validation using BERT test equipment.

I worked on the development of communication products, modems, and routers for railway-oriented applications. I contributed to the Cygnus 88X and 895 modem families.

I developed embedded software, device drivers, communication interfaces, and application-level functionality. My technical work included SPI, I2C, UART, EEPROM interfaces, board bring-up, and debugging.

I contributed to memory optimization, Modbus-based communication architecture, and field validation support for railway modem products.
