Senior QA Engineer and Test Lead

I lead core QA activities for an AI data analytics platform used by government audit authorities in Abu Dhabi. I manage day-to-day work for a four-person QA team, allocate testing across AMS, EDS, and SU applications, review test assets, and coach colleagues in API security testing and automation.

I led regression, integration, data, dashboard, and migration testing for a cloud-to-on-premises Azure migration that went live on schedule. I built Playwright and TypeScript regression suites integrated with GitHub Actions, reducing manual regression effort by about 40%. I also retested OWASP-related penetration-test findings, verified 21 critical fixes, maintained over 1,000 test cases, managed more than 800 defects, and tested an AI auditor agent end to end.

I tested Managing Pension Schemes, a digital service replacing the legacy TPSS pension system. I supported migration of pension schemes and users to the new platform, enabling retirement of the old service.

I created more than 150 reusable Cypress and Scala automated tests and contributed to the supporting framework. I designed test data for over 600 REST and SOAP API scenarios, conducted mobile browser testing on real iOS and Android devices through BrowserStack, ran Jenkins regression and smoke packs, and logged more than 400 defects.

I worked on a criminal record checking service hosted on AWS. I developed Selenium automation using Java and the Page Object Model, alongside Postman API tests executed through Jenkins.

My work helped increase test coverage by 90%. I tested Salesforce modules across more than 350 cases, tracked over 400 defects to resolution, performed front-end and back-end SQL validation during migration from a legacy system to an AWS platform, and supported incident investigation and root-cause analysis.

I provided QA for the SoFT programme, which migrated an on-premises IDS database, ETL processes, and reporting services to AWS. I performed functional, regression, integration, and acceptance testing for the migration.

I health-checked Pentaho and Oracle ETL feeds using mocks and stubs, performed reconciliation and job-scheduler testing, and developed an automation framework based on requirements and gap analysis.

I tested the online PVG service, used by more than 100 organisations. I created and maintained Selenium Java and Postman tests executed through Jenkins.

I performed accessibility testing against WCAG AA requirements and helped establish multi-container test environments using Docker Compose. My work covered functional, API, automated regression, and platform quality assurance activities.

I worked as a contract Automation Test Lead supporting the migration of ExISS and Bichard7 from UK Cloud to AWS. I designed a Java and JUnit automation framework with mock services.

I also built a Cucumber and Selenium BDD layer and mentored junior testers through practical automation training and hands-on sessions.

I held a series of contract and permanent automation testing roles across BJSS for Disclosure Scotland, TrakCel, Whitbread, Piksel, and the Rail Safety and Standards Board. My roles included Automation Test Engineer, Senior Developer in Test, Senior QA Automation Analyst, and Automation Test Analyst.

Across these engagements, I built and supported automated test solutions, contributed to quality assurance delivery, and worked with cross-functional teams on enterprise and public-sector software.
