Software Engineer

I work for a software consultancy delivering the call-centre and service platform used by the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality. On my first day, I rebuilt the entire core application in Ruby on Rails within one month after a total data loss, restoring service and helping prevent contract cancellation.

I engineered a real-time IVR solution for high-volume municipal calls by integrating FreeSWITCH with Rails through ActionCable WebSockets and Solid Queue. I also cleared historical support issues and established a stable, standardised codebase that supports 24/7 call-centre operations.

I worked remotely for a Sydney-based digital agency delivering e-commerce solutions for retail clients. I developed a custom Shopify application in Ruby on Rails to extend platform functionality beyond standard e-commerce capabilities.

I built high-performance headless storefronts using React and Remix, replacing standard Liquid templates with fast-loading, SEO-optimised customer experiences. I delivered several concurrent projects under strict deadlines while supporting peers with engineering best practices and code quality.

I performed offensive penetration testing for more than five high-value clients at a professional services firm providing audit, advisory, and cybersecurity services. My assessments identified critical SQL injection vulnerabilities and misconfigured Active Directory environments.

I used my software development background to translate vulnerability findings into practical technical fixes. I also drafted and implemented security policies based on public CVEs and outdated-system audits to improve client security postures.

I delivered web and mobile products for a diverse portfolio of clients at a software development studio. I designed and launched the Contract Ease MVP in under three months, selecting a TypeScript, Node.js, and Laravel stack to meet an aggressive go-to-market deadline.

I improved application performance and scalability by introducing Redis for background processing, enabling reliable concurrent usage during peak demand. I managed the full development lifecycle, introduced CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments on AWS and Cloudflare, and maintained strong client satisfaction through direct stakeholder communication.
