About

Professional summary

I am an AI safety, cloud security, and resilience engineering executive who builds organizations, methods, and platforms that identify how complex systems fail before those failures harm customers or become security incidents.

I founded Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's CEO-sponsored Cloud & AI Safety organization, growing it to 43 people in 15 months and establishing safety operations across more than 300 cloud services. My work includes hazard taxonomy, severe-harm assessment, incident learning, AI-agent operating rules, and AI-assisted safety platforms.

I created Security Chaos Engineering, a discipline that injects adversarial conditions into live systems to validate security and safety controls. I co-authored the O'Reilly book on the subject and am extending this work to AI models, inference systems, and agent-to-agent interactions.

My background spans hyperscale cloud, financial services, healthcare, government, defense, and venture-backed software. I have held executive architecture and technology leadership roles at Oracle, Capital One, Verica, UnitedHealth Group, DHS, and NASA.

I combine technical depth in cloud security, resilience, zero trust, secure software delivery, and AI safety with experience building teams, products, executive operating models, and large-scale engineering transformations. I regularly advise leaders and present research to industry, government, and academic audiences.
