Senior Software Engineer

Architected and built the core backend infrastructure for the Duduzili Marketplace Platform using Python, Django, Django REST Framework, Redis, PostgreSQL, and WebSockets. Developed more than 16 Django models, ORM structures, serializers, viewsets, categorized Markdown API documentation, and bulk chat management endpoints.

Implemented multi-step phone, email, and WhatsApp OTP verification using Django caching, single-device JWT session enforcement through a custom authentication class, and Google OAuth integration. Resolved production WebSocket infrastructure issues across Redis, Gunicorn, Daphne, and Apache; implemented caching, image optimization, Playwright end-to-end tests, PostgreSQL migration, SSL, SMS integration, and deployment on Ubuntu/aaPanel.

Served as the sole developer for an end-to-end EdTech platform, designing and shipping the database architecture, backend services, frontend application, and production deployments. Designed normalized LMS schemas for course management, user progress, mentor booking, lab sandboxes, and UUID-based certificate verification.

Built an 18-page React single-page application connected to more than 25 Django REST API endpoints. Implemented JWT authentication with silent token refresh through Axios interceptors, protected routes, lazy loading, CORS and API security policies, and deployments on Render and Vercel.

Built and maintained RESTful backend API endpoints using Django REST Framework and PostgreSQL, supporting reliable communication between client applications and server-side services. Designed relational database models and indexing strategies to improve data integrity and query performance.

Worked closely with frontend developers and product managers to translate product requirements into backend solutions. Maintained structured Git workflows for collaborative, team-based feature delivery and returned for an additional engagement in July 2026.
