I built Esdieff, a command-line tool and Rust library that helps developers explore, check and test connected-device models written in Semantic Definition Format (SDF), defined by IETF RFC 9880.

Esdieff helps teams understand a supplier's interface, catch model mistakes, compare revisions for breaking changes and generate valid, boundary and invalid test values. It also checks recorded values against the model and supports repeatable checks and machine-readable reports.

I've discussed implementation questions with the RFC authors and the IETF ASDF working group, using concrete examples to clarify how the specification should behave.

I built Ripscope, a fast C code navigator written in safe Rust. It finds definitions, follows callers and traces assignments through cscope's familiar command line and query protocol, with integrations for Vim, Neovim and Emacs.

The index updates changed files automatically after saved edits. Updates commit in one SQLite transaction, so queries read a complete revision. Ripscope reads written C without a compiler, preprocessor or compile database.

I designed the compatibility requirements, source-reading rules and persistent index, and checked the results against observed cscope behavior and independent expectations from C source. Published examples show where Ripscope improves specific readings, alongside its recognition limits.

I built Fastmash, a Rust command-line tool for statistics on text and quoted CSV. It uses GNU datamash's familiar command language and adds named reports, weighted means, highest and lowest complete-record selection, text-table health checks, and ranked dataset comparisons.

Software 80-bit arithmetic and built-in locale data keep results reproducible for the same version, input, and explicit settings on supported machines. Published benchmarks include a 4.2x speed result on RefGene quartiles against GNU datamash 1.9 on an Intel laptop running native Linux, with matching output: 26.6 ms versus 112.8 ms.

At the European Parliament in Brussels, I contributed to the delivery of AT4AM (Authoring Tool for Amendments), a web application used by Members of the European Parliament and their staff to draft and manage amendments to legislative texts. I personally developed the XML schema and associated processing and business logic for its Legal XML component, enabling structured, semantic representations of legal text. This hands-on development complemented my formal business-analysis role and connected legislative requirements with executable software. Contributed a fix across pnpm's TypeScript v11 and Rust v12 CLIs so global updates keep an existing package group when its resolved dependency graph is unchanged and installation metadata is present. Missing installations are still repaired; pending build approvals and downgrade protection are preserved. Added regression coverage for the affected update paths. The work spans both the TypeScript and Rust implementations. Developed with AI assistance and upstream review.

Extended Atuin's command-history search to accept repeated --exit and --exclude-exit flags. The change connects CLI argument handling to SQLite IN and NOT IN predicates: included codes match any listed value, while exclusions take precedence over overlaps. Tests cover exclusions, overlapping filters, and deletion selection. Demonstrates feature delivery across a CLI and database boundary. Developed with AI assistance and upstream review.

Optimized SWC's export_default_from transform to return immediately for scripts and process the module body directly for modules. The change preserves export rewriting and pass composition, with regression fixtures and benchmarks. The reported benchmarks show improvements for two script sizes, while four module cases remain unchanged. Developed with AI assistance and upstream review.

Added TreeEntry.normal_value() to Jujutsu's template interface, exposing resolved tree values, including the recorded commit ID for Git submodules. Values format as full hexadecimal object IDs; absent and conflicted entries return none. The contribution includes tests and documentation and demonstrates a bounded API extension with explicit edge-case behavior. Developed with AI assistance and upstream review.

I added the deeptutor doctor command to DeepTutor, an open-source AI tutor that helps people learn from their own study materials. It helps users find setup problems before starting a tutoring session.

The Python command checks the AI service’s connection settings and access keys, storage permissions and the tools used to search study materials. It provides readable terminal output and JSON for automated checks, with a failing exit status when required checks fail.

Live checks contact the AI service only when requested with --online. Diagnostic output hides access keys and other connection secrets. I added tests for the checks, secret handling and command-line behavior.

Contributed a fix for Pake's Find panel and injected styles on pages with restrictive Content Security Policy. The change keeps ordinary stylesheets where permitted and uses constructable stylesheets when needed, while preserving custom CSS order and existing adopted stylesheets. Validation included automated tests, real-browser checks, and a native macOS application check. Developed with AI assistance and upstream review.

Developed a prototype web application for drafting and managing legislative text while working part-time as an IT Analyst, Developer and Project Manager at Norway's Ministry of Justice (2009-2011). My work covered requirements, process modeling, and the user interface. The prototype led to a full project and demonstrates turning a specialist business process into working software.

Developed business software for Toyota Asker & Bærum while working part-time as an IT Analyst and Developer (2005-2010). The application supported sales, deliveries, inventory, and reporting, and automated manual workflows. My wider role included managing IT resources. This case demonstrates practical application development around operational needs.

Built a C++/Qt feature that stores named password and passphrase generator profiles inside each encrypted database. Users can reuse settings, choose a database default, and associate a profile with an entry without changing global generator settings.

The contribution builds on earlier work by KeePassXC maintainer droidmonkey. I added stable profile IDs, validation, persistence and merge handling, GUI integration, documentation, translations, and regression tests covering save/reopen, entry Save/Cancel, missing profiles, defaults, and locking.

Added configurable line-number width across bat’s CLI, public configuration, and rendering. The change keeps long-file output aligned without pre-counting input lines and includes coverage for wrapping, Git markers, narrow terminals, stdin, validation, documentation, and shell completions.
