SEO Outreach Specialist – Japan

We are looking for a passionate SEO Outreacher/Link Builder in  Japan  to join the International SEO team to help scale our next phase of growth in Japan! This is an initial 6-month contract, part-time hours (approximately 20 hours per week).

As Outreacher for the Japanese locale, you will be responsible for building high-quality backlinks that help to improve the SEO performance of important landing pages. You will work closely with the SEO Country Lead to set targets for the number of links needed to achieve top-ranking positions, identify the most appropriate link-building tactics, build lists of relevant prospects, and execute the end-to-end outreach process to secure high-quality links. You’ll have access to a range of the best enterprise-level third-party tools, as well as several platforms and products we have built in-house that help us to world-class SEO.

We follow a completely white-hat approach to link building at Canva and you will be required to follow strict quality guidelines. However, we recognise that building quality links is challenging, but on the positive side, Japan is a new market for SEO Outreach at Canva, so we expect there to be lots of untapped opportunities. You’ll also benefit from learning from an extremely well-established, tried-and-tested playbook as well as ideation opportunities with the global outreach team.

At the moment, this role is focused on

• Working with the SEO country lead to identify pages within the Japanese locale that would benefit from backlinks, and agree on targets for each campaign
• For each campaign, you’ll identify a list of backlink prospects, following Canva’s tried-and-tested outreach playbook
• Writing and sending quality outreach emails, tailored to the specific campaign and the prospect receiving the email.
• Actively developing and maintaining relationships with website owners, building an address book of contacts who can be leveraged for future campaigns
• Maintaining reporting spreadsheets to keep track of progress towards goals, and be responsible for communicating with your SEO country lead if you are not on track to reach goals
• Supporting the continual improvement of the global outreach strategy by sharing learnings and insights with the wider outreach team

You’re probably a match if

• You are a native-Japanese speaker with business-level English
• You are a positive, enthusiastic ‘people person’ with good written communication skills
• You have some experience working in a marketing-related field such as sales, PR, media or SEO
• You have high attention to detail and the ability to closely follow detailed written instructions.

About the team

The international SEO team is responsible for improving the SEO performance of logged-out pages across the Canva website. Our mission in SEO is to empower every user in the world to discover Canva.
