Java Developer

Leidos is seeking a mid-level Java Developer to support the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) program at the IRS. The successful candidate will work on an IRS Java based re-engineering project moving from an onsite server platform to an OpenShift containerization. Duties include working on the development team coordinating with management, analysts, and testers to design, develop and test both internal, external, and batch software applications utilizing Spring MVC, REST services and JSPs. The Java Developer will work closely with the Federal Government teams to develop and maintain programming code, complete Federal Government design documentation and attend various project related meetings and support testing efforts throughout the development lifecycle and ad hoc requests from customer.

The Java Developer Primary Responsibilities will include:

• Performing analysis on existing functionalities
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation in support of the project
• Identifying and implementing Unit Testing solutions
• Providing status reports
• Coordinating with and supporting the Test Team
• Following software compliance standards
• Identifying and mitigating risks
• Continuing to evaluate new technologies and updating/developing standard practices
• Using Rational Suite (RRC, RQM, RTC) tools

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 4+ years of recent Java development experience developing large scale enterprise solutions and shall be proficient in the following skill sets:

• RESTful Services
• Oracle
• Maven
• Junit, Mockito or similar unit test technology

• Current valid IRS Public Trust MBI

Clearance Required:

• Candidates must be able to pass an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) security background check prior to start date.
• Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant if not, candidate will not be considered.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 – $146,875.00
