Sample interview questions
I would first confirm business goals, conversion definitions, attribution settings, and historical performance trends. Next, I would review account structure, audience strategy, creative fatigue, budget allocation, bidding, tracking integrity, and landing-page alignment. I would prioritize the highest-impact issues, document recommendations with expected outcomes, and establish a testing roadmap with clear ownership and reporting cadence.
I would segment the plan by awareness, consideration, conversion, and retention objectives, aligning each stage with appropriate audiences, creative messages, optimization events, and measurement methods. For example, I would use broad prospecting and video or creator-led creative for awareness, product-focused retargeting for consideration, and dynamic product or offer-led campaigns for conversion. I would also define budget guardrails and use incrementality or lift testing where feasible to validate impact beyond platform-reported results.
I use structured account reviews, real-time feedback, and clear examples that connect execution details to business outcomes. I set expectations through repeatable QA checklists, testing templates, and documented best practices, then invite team members to explain their reasoning so coaching becomes collaborative. I also escalate material risks early while ensuring teammates have the context and confidence to improve independently.
I would focus on metrics that directly connect media activity to the client’s business goals, such as revenue, qualified leads, customer acquisition cost, return on ad spend, conversion rate, and new-customer contribution. I would pair those results with concise context on spend, major tests, audience or creative insights, and actions planned for the next period. For upper-funnel activity, I would include reach, frequency, video engagement, brand lift, or incremental impact when available.
I would begin with shared audience definitions, funnel goals, messaging pillars, and measurement standards across channels. I would coordinate creative learning agendas so insights from social inform search and programmatic messaging, while analytics validates cross-channel contribution and attribution limitations. Regular planning and performance reviews would help us shift budget, reduce duplication, and maintain a unified client narrative.
