Testlio is building a talent pool for future remote QA Analyst contract opportunities, with projects that may be temporary or ongoing. The role centers on manual software quality assurance across mobile, web, desktop, and APIs, including exploratory, regression, functional, localization, and payments testing. Analysts will create and maintain test cases, investigate logs and defects, execute API tests, and communicate quality risks to distributed Agile stakeholders. Candidates need at least two years of QA experience, strong English communication, familiarity with SDLC and CI/CD practices, and the flexibility to work regional daytime hours. Both part-time and full-time contract assignments may become available depending on project needs.

Sample interview questions
I first identify the endpoint’s purpose, expected inputs, authentication, response structure, and dependent systems from available documentation and stakeholder discussions. I create positive, negative, boundary, authorization, and error-handling scenarios, then use a tool such as Postman to execute and document the tests. I log requirement gaps and risks early so the team can clarify expected behavior.
I would capture the device model, OS version, app build, network conditions, account state, timestamps, and exact actions around the failure. I would attempt controlled repetition while varying one condition at a time, collect device or network logs where possible, and compare results across environments. The defect report would clearly state frequency, impact, reproduction evidence, and any suspected patterns without presenting assumptions as facts.
A high-quality report has a concise title, environment details, clear preconditions, reproducible steps, expected and actual results, severity or impact, and supporting evidence such as screenshots, videos, logs, or API responses. It should make the issue understandable to someone who did not discover it. I also verify that the issue is not a duplicate and update the report when new evidence becomes available.
I prioritize by customer impact, business criticality, change risk, and likelihood of failure. I begin with smoke coverage and critical user journeys such as authentication, payments, core workflows, and integrations, then focus on recently changed or historically unstable areas. I communicate any untested risks explicitly so release stakeholders can make an informed decision.
I keep test status, blockers, defects, and risk information visible in the team’s agreed tools and communicate proactively rather than waiting for meetings. I ask focused questions, provide concise evidence with findings, and confirm shared understanding of acceptance criteria before testing. I also plan my work around agreed regional core hours and document decisions so asynchronous collaborators have the necessary context.

Typical Project Details:
- Project Focus: You will be a Software Quality Assurance Analyst following Agile methodologies, mostly focused on API testing.
- Project Duration: Contracts can be temporary, ranging from 6 months to 1 year, or ongoing. Many temporary projects extend beyond their initial term, and some evolve into ongoing contractor opportunities.
- Location: This job ad is open to candidates in select countries who are comfortable working in a fully remote setup. Countries we are considering consist of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic, Estonia, India, Ireland, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, or the United States.
- Schedule: Opportunities are available for both part-time and full-time contracts. Working hours generally follow day or afternoon schedules based on your regional time zone.
- Timezone: While we support flexible work, most roles align with standard daytime hours in their region (e.g., 9 AM–6 PM). For instance, this may mean Central Standard Time (CST) in the Americas or Central European Time (CET) in EMEA. Please ensure your availability aligns with your region’s core hours.
- Required Devices: You must have access to an Android or iOS mobile device for testing.
- Internet Connection: A reliable, high-speed internet connection is required for testing and team communications. Mobile hotspots and other unstable or limited connections are not suitable.
What Your Day Looks Like
- Design and execute smoke, scripted, and exploratory test cases on mobile, web and desktop.
- Conduct functional, localization, regression, and payments testing to ensure software meets quality standards.
- Report, reproduce, and track issues found during testing.
- Document and share test results, including bugs and potential risks.
- Analyze test results, logs, and related data to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to align on goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Communicate test progress, issues, and risks clearly and proactively with stakeholders.
- Generate test reports that provide actionable insights.
- Design and execute API tests using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
- Create, maintain, and review test cases and test suites aligned with business priorities and industry best practices.
- Design and optimize effective test data.
- Ensure the test library remains relevant by refactoring, updating, and deprecating tests as needed.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the systems under test.
- Stay up to date with trends and advancements in software testing tools and methodologies.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a QA Analyst or similar role, with a strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and tools (such as JIRA, Bugzilla, TestRail, Xray or similar.)
- Experience with mobile and web applications, frontend and backend testing (including API testing.)
- Proficiency in identifying and documenting software bugs and issues.
- Ability to solve technical tasks required during testing – such as test data generation, log capturing and basic analysis, working with browser developer tools, network logs analyzers, etc.
- Experience in working in agile teams in a remote environment – proven track record of communication and collaboration with different stakeholders such as Scrum Masters, Product Owners and others.
- Good knowledge of SDLC, CI/CD, and DevOps, as well as an understanding of test automation principles in effective SDLC.
Human Skills:
- Effective English communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
- Drive to learn quickly and continuously expand knowledge.
