I separate presentational components from container components, define clear feature boundaries, and extract shared UI elements into a versioned component library. I use typed interfaces, consistent input/output contracts, and documented state ownership so components remain testable and easy to evolve.
In one application, repeated change detection and expensive list rendering created visible latency. I profiled the page, introduced OnPush change detection, used trackBy functions and virtual scrolling where appropriate, and reduced unnecessary observable emissions; this improved interaction responsiveness and lowered rendering cost.
I keep global state limited to information shared across features or needed over time, while retaining transient UI state locally where possible. I model actions as clear events, use selectors for derived data, isolate side effects in effects, and test reducers, selectors, and effects independently.
I build semantic HTML first, verify keyboard navigation and focus management, use appropriate ARIA only when native semantics are insufficient, and test contrast and screen-reader behavior. I also validate supported browsers through automated tests and targeted manual checks for layout, interaction, and rendering differences.
I would align early on user flows, API contracts, error states, and acceptance criteria, then break delivery into testable increments. I would communicate risks and dependencies regularly, use shared examples or mocks for integration, and partner with QA to cover edge cases, regression scenarios, and production monitoring needs.

Collaboration and partnership are vital to how ClickUp operates. A significant portion of your responsibilities will include working closely with members of the backend team and Integrations team to develop features together. Engineers at ClickUp are also responsible for the quality of their own code, so you will work with a QA counterpart to ensure all edge cases are tested. You should be proficient in using one or more of the modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular//Vue/etc.) and have a strong understanding of building reusable components and developing for performance.
The Role:
Build features in Angular 2+ while collaborating with designers, engineers, and product

Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables

Qualifications:
5+ years working with JavaScript and one or more modern frameworks (Angular 2+ required)
Experience with Redux style state management NgRx, Typescript, and RxJs
HTML/CSS experience, including concepts like layout, specificity, cross browser compatibility, and accessibility
A strong self-starter, operationally-focused; a problem-solver
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
