Sample interview questions
How do you approach a project that combines product design and brand expression?

I begin by clarifying the audience, business objective, brand principles, and user needs. I translate those inputs into a flexible visual direction and interaction approach, then validate it through prototypes and stakeholder feedback while preserving consistency across the experience.

Describe your process for building or extending a design system.

I audit the existing interface and identify repeated patterns, gaps, and inconsistencies. I then define reusable components, variants, usage guidance, and accessibility considerations in Figma, document decision rationale, and work with engineering to ensure the system is practical to implement.

How do you handle ambiguous briefs or evolving client feedback?

I make ambiguity visible by documenting assumptions, priorities, and open questions early. I share work in progress through focused checkpoints, explain the tradeoffs behind design decisions, and use feedback to refine the work without losing sight of the agreed objective.

What makes a design presentation effective for senior stakeholders?

An effective presentation connects design choices to the problem, audience, and intended outcome rather than showing visuals in isolation. I keep the narrative concise, show enough context to support decisions, anticipate questions, and clearly identify where stakeholder input is needed.

How do you work effectively as an independent freelancer on a distributed team?

I establish expectations for scope, milestones, communication channels, and review cadence at the start of an engagement. I proactively share progress, maintain organized source files and documentation, flag risks early, and stay accountable for delivering high-quality work on schedule.
