Sample interview questions
How do you approach launching a new digital media campaign?

I begin by validating the objective, KPIs, budget, flight dates, audience, creative assets, tracking requirements, and platform settings. Before launch, I use a checklist to confirm naming conventions, URLs, pixels or tags, targeting, pacing, and reporting access. After launch, I closely monitor initial delivery and tracking to resolve issues before they affect performance.

What would you do if a campaign were significantly underpacing its planned budget?

I would first verify that the budget, dates, targeting, inventory availability, and platform delivery settings are correct. I would then review performance and delivery data to identify constraints, such as restrictive audiences, low bids, creative fatigue, or tracking issues. I would communicate the risk promptly and recommend approved adjustments, documenting the expected impact on delivery and results.

How do you use campaign data to make optimization recommendations?

I compare actual results with the agreed KPIs, planned pacing, historical benchmarks, and channel-level performance. I look for meaningful trends in delivery, reach, engagement, conversion, cost efficiency, and attribution quality. I then prioritize actions with a clear rationale, such as reallocating spend, refreshing creative, adjusting targeting, or changing channel allocation.

Describe how you would investigate a discrepancy between platform-reported conversions and analytics data.

I would confirm the reporting windows, attribution models, conversion definitions, time zones, and campaign naming used in each system. Next, I would validate tag or pixel implementation, URL parameters, and whether any consent, browser, or data-processing limitations affect measurement. I would summarize the likely cause, quantify the discrepancy where possible, and coordinate with analytics or technical partners on a resolution.

How would you communicate campaign performance to a non-technical sales or client stakeholder?

I would lead with the business objective and the most relevant results, using clear language rather than platform jargon. I would explain what is performing well, what risk or opportunity has emerged, and the specific action I recommend. I would support the recommendation with concise metrics and be transparent about any data limitations or next steps.

TO FEEL AT HOME 🛋️ IN SHOPFULLY YOU NEED 🎯

  • Progress Over Perfection: We move forward. Always. In a fast-moving world, speed with purpose beats certainty without action. Momentum matters—not for its own sake, but because it drives results.
  • Clarity Through Transparency: We bring each other along. We work in teams, not silos. Transparency gives context, and context enables action. That means we share decisions early, publish work in progress, and document outcomes so others can learn, move faster, and build better.
  • Learn Loudly: We grow by doing and by daring. Big bets unlock big breakthroughs. But real innovation demands risk, and risk always carries the possibility of failure. That’s not a flaw. It’s the price of ambition.
  • Challenge with Empathy: We speak up, even when it’s hard—because candor shows care, and leads to better outcomes. Listening deeply is how we grow. Disagreeing openly is how we build trust.

Always Build Better: We are builders—of products, systems, and ideas. But more than that, we are builders of better. Better has no finish line. It’s a mindset.
