Sample interview questions
How would you design a high-throughput, low-latency RPC service in Go?

I would begin by defining latency, availability, and throughput targets, then use stateless Go service instances behind load balancing with efficient connection management and bounded concurrency. I would add caching where data consistency permits, isolate downstream node dependencies with timeouts and circuit breakers, and use metrics, tracing, and load testing to continuously identify bottlenecks.

Describe a production incident involving a distributed system and how you resolved it.

I would first stabilize the service by reducing load, rolling back a risky change, or failing over where appropriate. I would use dashboards, distributed traces, logs, and dependency health checks to isolate the failure mode, communicate status clearly, implement a durable fix, and complete a blameless post-incident review with preventive actions and monitoring improvements.

What Go practices do you use to build reliable concurrent services?

I use explicit context propagation for cancellation and deadlines, bounded worker pools, carefully managed goroutine lifecycles, and channels only where they simplify ownership and synchronization. I also use race detection, profiling, structured error handling, and load tests to validate behavior under contention and failure.

How would you improve uptime and reduce latency for an RPC platform that depends on multiple blockchain nodes?

I would measure latency and error rates by chain, node provider, method, and region to identify the dominant causes. I would introduce intelligent routing, health-based failover, request hedging only where justified, caching for safe read paths, and capacity protections such as rate limits and backpressure, then validate improvements against defined SLOs.

How do you balance independent technical ownership with cross-functional collaboration?

I make decisions independently within clear goals and constraints, but surface assumptions, risks, and trade-offs early to affected partners. I use concise design documents, milestones, and operational metrics so Product, Infrastructure, DevEx, and customer-facing teams have visibility and can provide input before decisions become expensive to change.
