Sample interview questions
How would you build a strategic account plan for a large fuel or convenience-store partner?

I would begin by mapping stakeholders, business objectives, current performance, site footprint, renewal milestones, and risks. I would then set measurable retention and expansion goals, define an executive-review cadence, identify product-adoption actions, and document mutual responsibilities in a shared success plan.

Describe how you would use raw account data in a monthly business review.

I would validate the data, identify trends in performance and adoption, and connect results to the customer's stated business goals. I would present a concise story covering outcomes, drivers, risks, recommended actions, and specific next steps, rather than simply reviewing metrics.

What steps would you take when an enterprise account shows early signs of churn?

I would quickly determine the root cause through account data, stakeholder conversations, and internal feedback. I would align a recovery plan with the customer, address immediate issues with internal partners, set short-term success milestones, and maintain frequent communication until health indicators improve.

How do you identify and close expansion opportunities within an existing account?

I look for value gaps such as unlaunched locations, underutilized features, new store openings, or performance gains that can be replicated. I quantify the opportunity, tailor the business case to the stakeholder's priorities, secure internal alignment, and guide the customer through a clear implementation and agreement process.

How do you manage competing priorities across several high-value accounts?

I prioritize based on revenue risk, renewal timing, expansion potential, customer impact, and required effort. I maintain structured account plans and timelines, communicate tradeoffs early, and use regular internal and client check-ins to ensure important commitments do not slip.
