Sample interview questions
I would first identify a bounded business capability with clear ownership and interfaces, then map its dependencies, data flows, and operational risks. I would introduce a stable API or event contract, migrate incrementally with observability and feature flags, and use automated tests and rollback plans to reduce release risk.
I would define clear versioned contracts, validate inputs, use appropriate pagination and idempotency, and establish consistent error handling. I would also plan for caching, rate limiting, monitoring, load testing, and resilient dependency behavior through timeouts, retries, and circuit-breaking patterns.
I would begin by assessing customer impact and reviewing dashboards, logs, traces, recent deployments, and infrastructure changes. I would correlate application symptoms with AWS metrics such as latency, error rates, resource saturation, and network or database behavior, mitigate safely, identify the root cause, and document preventive actions.
I clarify acceptance criteria and nonfunctional requirements early, then use code review, unit and integration tests, and targeted end-to-end coverage. Before release, I verify observability, deployment safety, and rollback readiness, then monitor the feature after launch and address feedback quickly.
I would communicate decisions and progress clearly in written channels, raise risks early, and keep technical documentation current. I would use focused design discussions and code reviews to align with teammates while taking ownership of deliverables and making my work transparent.
