Sample interview questions
I would first map the mechanic’s trigger, player action, outcome, limits, and exceptions with the game designer. Then I would write a plain-language version using consistent terminology, validate every statement against the implementation, and test whether a reader unfamiliar with the game can explain the feature back accurately.
I maintain a source-of-truth content file, glossary, style guidance, and version history. I use a localization platform such as Crowdin to assign work, answer translator queries, enforce character and layout constraints, and complete linguistic and functional checks before each release.
I would verify syntax, key names, encoding, variables, line breaks, and any character restrictions before reviewing the rendered client output. I would also compare the final text against the approved source and coordinate with QA or developers on issues that affect display or behavior.
I begin with names that reflect the game theme, mechanic, and audience, then assess clarity, cultural implications, and consistency with the product family. Before recommending a final option, I research relevant market usage and trademark databases and escalate any potential conflicts for legal review.
I would assess the player, legal, localization, and implementation impact immediately, prioritize mandatory changes, and communicate a revised delivery plan to stakeholders. Keeping content modular, tracking dependencies, and documenting decisions helps minimize rework while preserving release quality.
