About this role.

The manager will measure conversion performance, run content tests, and partner closely with product marketing, growth, sales, engineering, customer success, community, and people teams. Success requires strong editorial judgment, demand-generation experience, technical-audience fluency, and the ability to establish repeatable programs in a fast-moving startup.

Sample interview questions
I would begin by aligning with product marketing, sales, and growth on priority personas, use cases, buying stages, and pipeline objectives. I would audit existing content and search opportunities, create a funnel-based editorial roadmap, and define measurable goals such as qualified traffic, conversion rate, influenced pipeline, and sales adoption.
I interview subject-matter experts to understand the technical detail, customer problem, and business impact, then translate that information into a clear audience-specific narrative. I use practical examples, strong information architecture, and appropriate depth while validating accuracy with technical reviewers before publication.
I would measure performance against the asset's intended funnel role. For example, awareness content may be evaluated through organic visibility and engaged sessions, while gated or sales content should be assessed through conversion, lead quality, opportunity influence, and feedback from the revenue team.
I would establish an intake and prioritization process, editorial calendar, briefs, ownership model, review workflows, and performance reporting. I would start with a manageable set of high-impact content plays, document what works, and improve the process through stakeholder feedback and data.
I use a prioritized roadmap tied to business outcomes and reserve capacity for high-value reactive work. Clear briefs, reusable templates, realistic production timelines, and regular stakeholder check-ins help me protect strategic initiatives while delivering timely content myself.
