Sample interview questions
I would first calibrate the profile with the hiring manager by identifying the must-have technical depth, target companies, relevant open-source projects, and interview signals. I would map engineers from developer tooling, cloud infrastructure, security, and adjacent open-source communities, then segment prospects by fit and likelihood to engage. I would run personalized outreach tied to Infisical's technical mission, track response and conversion rates, and refine the search weekly based on funnel data and interviewer feedback.
I would describe a role with a narrow technical profile, the market mapping strategy used, how I translated technical requirements into sourcing criteria, and the personalized outreach approach. I would quantify the funnel where possible, such as prospects contacted, responses, interviews, and close rate. I would also explain how close partnership with the hiring manager helped remove blockers and secure the hire.
I build enough domain knowledge to understand the role's systems, technical vocabulary, relevant technologies, and likely career backgrounds. During screens, I validate the candidate's scope, problem domain, collaboration style, motivations, and ability to communicate about prior work, while leaving deep technical evaluation to qualified interviewers. I regularly calibrate with engineering partners using interview outcomes so my screening criteria become more predictive over time.
I would monitor stage-by-stage conversion, time in stage, time to fill, sourcing-channel quality, interviewer turnaround time, offer acceptance rate, and candidate experience feedback. I would segment these metrics by role family and source to identify where the process is losing strong candidates. I would then prioritize experiments such as improving outreach, tightening interview loops, revising scorecards, or increasing interviewer capacity.
I would use AI to accelerate research, draft outreach variants, organize talent maps, summarize non-sensitive recruiting notes, and identify funnel patterns. Every candidate-facing message and evaluation would receive human review, especially for personalization, accuracy, fairness, and confidentiality. The goal would be to reduce administrative work and create more time for thoughtful candidate engagement and hiring-manager partnership.

About the role
We’re looking for a Technical Recruiter to help us build the team behind the open source security infrastructure stack. You’ll own technical hiring end to end, focusing on Engineering, Product, Design and more!
You’ll be working closely with our CTO and engineering team leads to:
Define role requirements, align on talent bar and present well-calibrated candidate slates.
Map talent across developer tools, infrastructure, and security companies, and build pipelines of both active and passive candidates through direct outreach, referrals, and open source communities.
Run a fast, rigorous interview process that keeps candidates, interviewers, and hiring managers excited.
Structure and negotiate offers, guiding candidates through to close.
Track funnel metrics and use them to spot issues early and improve how we hire.
Use and build AI tools across sourcing, outreach, and screening to move faster without compromising candidate experience.
Shape recruitment marketing and nurture campaigns that tell Infisical’s story to the engineers we want to hire.
Requirements
3+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally at high-growth startups.
Proven success hiring in niche, competitive technical talent markets, with hires you can point to from your own outreach.
Strong technical literacy: comfortable discussing infrastructure, distributed systems, and developer tooling with engineers.
Exceptional attention to detail and clear, compelling written and verbal communication.
A bias toward action: able to make decisions with incomplete information, iterate quickly, and take calculated risks.
Experience with Ashby.
Based in the US or Canada.
Nice to have
Experience recruiting for developer tools, infrastructure, or security companies.
Experience as an early recruiter, building recruiting processes and systems from the ground up.
Hands-on experience coding or building AI tools in your recruiting workflow.
Familiarity with open source communities and developer-led hiring channels.
Previous founder or startup experience.
