Sample interview questions
How do you approach translating English marketing copy into Hebrew while preserving its intent and persuasive tone?

I first identify the target audience, brand voice, and intended action. I then localize the message rather than translating word for word, adapting idioms, calls to action, and sentence structure so the Hebrew reads naturally while retaining the original commercial objective.

What quality checks do you perform when reviewing localized UI content?

I verify terminology consistency, grammatical accuracy, context, character limitations, placeholders, variables, punctuation, and formatting. I also check that the Hebrew wording is concise and usable in the interface, including right-to-left display considerations where relevant.

Describe your experience with CAT tools and terminology resources.

I use CAT tools to maintain translation-memory consistency, apply approved terminology, manage segment-level quality checks, and work efficiently across recurring content. I review matches critically rather than accepting them automatically and flag terminology gaps or source ambiguities early.

How do you handle unclear source text or content that lacks sufficient context?

I review available reference materials, prior translations, screenshots, and style guides first. If ambiguity remains, I document a concise query with the affected string, possible interpretations, and my recommended option so the project team can resolve it efficiently.

How do you maintain reliability on an ongoing freelance project with weekly volume targets?

I plan capacity around expected volume, acknowledge assignments promptly, and communicate early if a deadline or scope issue arises. I reserve time for self-review and revisions, ensuring delivery is both on time and ready for production use.
