Sample interview questions
I begin by validating the data and identifying material utilization, cost, rebate, and trend drivers. I translate the findings into a concise business narrative, quantify the expected impact of available actions, and present practical options that balance plan cost, member access, and implementation complexity.
I establish the root causes with the client and internal stakeholders, document a mitigation plan with owners and dates, and communicate progress transparently. I focus on resolving urgent service issues quickly while also building a forward-looking value story supported by performance data, savings opportunities, and an executive-level renewal plan.
I would avoid unnecessary clinical jargon and frame the recommendation around member impact, financial implications, operational requirements, and measurable outcomes. I would partner with clinical pharmacists for technical credibility while ensuring the executive receives a clear decision framework and understands any trade-offs.
I first clarify the client outcome they need and the operational constraints involved, then bring the right internal partners together to identify feasible alternatives. I communicate candidly about commitments and timelines, advocate for the client where appropriate, and document the agreed path so expectations remain aligned.
I segment accounts by renewal timing, strategic value, satisfaction risk, and open operational issues. I maintain account plans and recurring stakeholder cadences, use clear escalation criteria, and reserve time for proactive analysis so emerging risks and optimization opportunities are addressed before they become urgent.
