Sample interview questions
I would first clarify the target audience, its operational challenge, and the decision criteria. I would validate the product facts with engineering and product teams, then connect the capability to measurable customer outcomes such as uptime, energy optimization, fleet readiness, or simplified integration. Finally, I would tailor the depth and format for sales, technical evaluators, and executive buyers while maintaining one consistent positioning framework.
I would establish content ownership, audience definitions, review cycles, and a clear source of truth for product claims. Each asset would be mapped to a product area, lifecycle stage, persona, and last-verified date. I would work with product and engineering teams to trigger updates around releases, and use performance data and field feedback to prioritize new or revised materials.
I would use verified public documentation, product testing where available, customer feedback, and internal subject-matter expertise to compare capabilities fairly. The comparison would focus on meaningful buyer criteria such as interoperability, deployment architecture, energy-management functionality, reliability, security, and integration effort. I would distinguish documented facts from positioning guidance and maintain a review process so claims remain current and defensible.
I use structured discovery sessions with engineering to understand architecture, constraints, roadmaps, and evidence behind claims. With sales and solutions teams, I gather objections, recurring questions, and field examples to identify where technical messaging or enablement needs improvement. This two-way process produces materials that are accurate enough for technical audiences and practical enough for customer conversations.
I would use AI to accelerate research synthesis, draft outlines, repurpose approved content, identify gaps in content libraries, and improve discoverability. However, I would require subject-matter review for technical claims, product specifications, competitive statements, and customer-facing deliverables. AI should increase speed and consistency, not replace fact validation, editorial judgment, or product expertise.
