Sample interview questions
Describe a large-scale infrastructure program you managed from planning through delivery.

I would explain the program scope, delivery milestones, vendors and internal teams involved, then show how I created an integrated plan for dependencies, risks, decisions, and reporting. I would quantify the outcome, such as improved launch readiness, avoided delays, or delivery against budget and schedule.

How do you manage dependencies across technical teams and external vendors during a data-center build?

I establish a dependency-linked master schedule with named owners, acceptance criteria, lead times, and escalation paths. I review critical-path items frequently, validate vendor commitments against technical readiness, and use risk reviews to address issues before they affect delivery dates.

How would you communicate a major infrastructure risk to executive leadership?

I would provide a concise summary of the risk, affected milestone, probability, business impact, available options, recommendation, and decision needed. Supporting detail would remain available, but the executive update would focus on the trade-offs and the action required.

Give an example of leading through ambiguity when there was no established process.

I would first clarify the intended outcome and constraints, then create a lightweight operating model covering ownership, milestones, decision rights, and communication cadence. I would validate it with stakeholders, iterate quickly, and use the process to make risks and blockers visible.

How do you influence stakeholders when you do not have direct authority over them?

I build credibility through preparation, transparent data, and a clear understanding of each stakeholder's priorities. I frame discussions around shared delivery outcomes, document decisions and commitments, and escalate only after actively working to resolve disagreements collaboratively.
