Sample interview questions
How would you build a measurement strategy for a new enterprise advertiser entering multiple EMEA markets?

I would begin by clarifying the advertiser's commercial objectives, customer journey, available data, and regional privacy constraints. I would then define a KPI hierarchy, select appropriate methods such as lift studies, incrementality tests, attribution, or MMM, and establish a phased learning agenda. Finally, I would align stakeholders on reporting cadence, decision thresholds, and how insights will inform optimization.

Describe how you would explain the limitations of last-touch attribution to a C-suite stakeholder.

I would explain that last-touch attribution gives all credit to the final interaction before conversion, which can undervalue awareness and consideration activity that influenced the customer earlier. I would use a concise example from the stakeholder's funnel and recommend complementing it with experiments, multi-touch analysis, and aggregate measurement. The goal is to show how a broader framework supports better investment decisions rather than simply replacing one metric.

How do you develop a client-facing analytics team while maintaining service quality for strategic accounts?

I set clear competency expectations, create repeatable measurement playbooks, and use regular coaching based on real account work. I assign senior team members ownership of increasingly complex client conversations while providing review points for methodology and narrative quality. For strategic accounts, I stay involved in the highest-impact decisions and use those engagements as learning opportunities for the broader team.

What factors would you consider when designing an incrementality test for a programmatic campaign?

I would assess the business question, conversion volume, audience size, geographic or user-level test design, holdout methodology, campaign duration, and statistical power. I would also verify data quality, tracking consistency, exposure definitions, and potential contamination between test and control groups. Before launch, I would agree on success metrics and how the result will change budget or targeting decisions.

How would you handle a recurring reporting request that cannot be efficiently delivered manually across EMEA?

I would identify the common underlying business need, quantify demand, and document regional nuances and data dependencies. I would partner with scaled solutions, product, and engineering teams to prioritize a reusable workflow or productized deliverable rather than continuing one-off work. I would then pilot it with representative clients, measure adoption and impact, and refine the solution before wider rollout.
