Sample interview questions
How have you developed a product strategy for an Accounts Payable or Procure-to-Pay platform?

I begin with workflow research across AP practitioners, finance leaders, and adjacent operational teams to identify high-cost manual work and control gaps. I translate those findings into a measurable product strategy that balances customer value, compliance, commercial opportunity, and platform scalability, then maintain it through clear roadmap outcomes and regular customer validation.

Describe an AI-powered product you took from concept to market.

I would frame the opportunity around a specific user decision or repetitive workflow where AI improves speed, accuracy, or insight. I would validate data readiness and customer trust requirements early, launch with measurable guardrails, and iterate using adoption, quality, and business-impact metrics rather than treating AI as a standalone feature.

How would you prioritize competing requests from customers, sales, and internal teams?

I use a transparent prioritization model combining customer impact, strategic alignment, revenue potential, delivery effort, risk, and confidence in the underlying evidence. I communicate trade-offs directly, distinguish scalable product investments from one-off requests, and revisit priorities as customer evidence and market conditions change.

What metrics would you use to evaluate a Procure-to-Pay product suite?

I would track workflow adoption, invoice-processing time, automation rate, exception rate, payment accuracy, customer retention, expansion, and user satisfaction. For AI capabilities, I would additionally monitor recommendation quality, override rates, time saved, and any operational or compliance risk indicators.

How do you build and lead a high-performing product management team?

I set clear product outcomes, decision rights, and operating rhythms while giving product managers meaningful ownership of their domains. I coach through customer thinking, commercial judgment, communication, and execution discipline, and I create a culture where teams use evidence, surface risks early, and learn quickly from delivery results.
